About Retreat to Broadway

Retreat to Broadway offers vibrant programming for any educational, professional, social, and spiritual group or organization. Our program attendance ranges from 1 person (private retreats available) to 200+ people.

Our Director & Founder, Brian F. B. Reavey, first had the idea to bridge experiences of theater and retreats back in 2003 while leaving the Neil Simon Theater following a Broadway production of Hairspray. While consumed with other full-time work (similar to his current situation), he developed various retreat models in his free time to eventually be paired with experiences of live theater.

The following year, Brian was put in contact with Broadway actress, Kathy Deitch, who was performing in Wicked and would soon become Retreat to Broadway’s inaugural Speakers Bureau member. On October 30, 2005, the first ever Retreat to Broadway pilot program took place and Kathy spoke to our group before seeing the Off-Broadway production of Altar Boyz. Since then we have developed and facilitated many more events and programs, and we currently have 11 members of our Retreat to Broadway Speakers Bureau.
